27/11/2023 - Woori Bank Vietnam Opens Le Dai Hanh Branch in Ho Chi Minh City
On November 27, 2023, Woori Bank Vietnam opened its Le Dai Hanh Branch (184 Le Dai Hanh Street, Ward 15, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City) on the first floor of The Emporium shopping mall. The branch offers free tea and coffee tasting and a “chill” photo-taking space for customers.
This is the 23rd branch to open in Woori Bank Vietnam’s plan to expand its nationwide network to 33 by next year. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Korean Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and leaders from Korean companies operating in Vietnam, including the CEO of the Korea Investment Securities Company and the CEO of Mirae Asset Corporation.
The Le Dai Hanh Branch is a new highlight in Woori Bank Vietnam’s network as it is the first bank to introduce a free tea and coffee tasting experience with a small beverage counter and a “chill” photo-taking space. This model was pioneered by Woori Bank Korea and has been successfully implemented at many branches and offices in Korea for the past five years.
Following the success of this model, Woori Bank Vietnam decided to bring it to Vietnamese customers, starting with the Le Dai Hanh Branch. The bank hopes to expand this model to other branches and offices in the future.
The addition of a cafe and photo space to a bank branch will help to optimize the customer experience, providing a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere and reducing fatigue during waiting times.
Park Jong Il, CEO of Woori Bank Vietnam, emphasized, “The special thing about the Le Dai Hanh Branch is its location in the center of District 11, which is surrounded by eight universities. With these new experiences, we hope to attract many young people to Woori Bank and become our loyal customers, creating a foundation for us to expand this model to other locations in the future.”

After establishing a legal entity, Woori Bank Vietnam quickly expanded its business network to include most major cities in Vietnam, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Can Tho. The bank currently has 23 branches and offices nationwide. Woori Bank Vietnam plans to expand its nationwide network to 33 branches by 2024.
In the future, Woori Bank Vietnam aims to grow strongly, in line with the scale of its parent bank. The bank plans to increase its capital by $200 million in the coming year to enhance its overall competitiveness and provide the best products and services to customers.
