🔥 SHINGLES VACCINE: WHO SHOULD GET VACCINATED EARLY?
Vietnam now offers the shingles vaccine (herpes zoster) for the first time at VNVC for adults aged 18 and older who are at high risk, and for those 50 years and above. It has been shown to be 97% effective in people over 50 and 87% effective in immunocompromised individuals over 18. Additionally, it can reduce post-herpetic neuralgia by more than 90%.
Doctors recommend that people at high risk of shingles should get vaccinated early. VNVC currently has shingles vaccines available for immediate vaccination without the need for a reservation:
Adults aged 50 and above;
Elderly people with underlying health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and musculoskeletal conditions;
Adults aged 18 and over who are at high risk of shingles (those who are immunocompromised or taking immunosuppressive therapy due to medical conditions or treatments), including:
Individuals with HIV/AIDS;
Those with autoimmune diseases (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriatic arthritis/psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, and musculoskeletal rheumatoid conditions);
Individuals who have had hematopoietic stem cell transplants;
Those with hematologic malignancies, including those undergoing chemotherapy and radiation;
Patients with solid malignant tumors;
Patients who have had organ transplants (kidney, heart, liver, lung, etc.).
