“I chose Software Engineering because I thought this field only required sitting in front of a computer all day…” – Tuyet Nga (K24WD-02) opened her story with such honesty. Nga’s journey to conquering the SEED Scholarship (Canada) was not filled with roses, but rather with psychological obstacles:
The fear of “the first time”: Going far away for the first time, living alone in a strange country for 4 months. Nga once intended to back down out of anxiety about her capabilities and the fear of loneliness.
Family barriers: “Because I am a girl, my parents strictly forbade it.” To get her family’s approval, Nga had to beg relentlessly and prove her determination through concrete actions.
Time pressure: Despite having 2 months to prepare, due to hesitation, Nga only had exactly 2 final weeks to complete everything.
But at VTC Academy, Nga did not have to fight alone.

Nga realized: As it turns out, the lecturers here do not just teach coding; they remember every student’s name and care about even the smallest reasons for an absence.
Overcoming her initial hesitation, 14 days of full effort brought home a 100% scholarship from the Government of Canada—a rewarding response to Tuyet Nga’s courage to break out of her comfort zone and step into the world.

“Don’t doubt yourself too much. If you don’t have a clear direction yet, try eliminating what you dislike to find what you ‘somewhat like’, and then commit to it. Make mistakes, give it your all, and you will get what you deserve. What if you actually pass?”
